Leeds Rhinos are one of the most successful clubs of the modern era.
Part of that is down to the way they embraced the summer era, Super League and the modern world.
At one stage, they were by far the best run club off the field which is how they afforded the redevelopment of Headingley stadium.
They’re still, alongside the likes of Wigan Warriors and St Helens, at the forefront of rugby league and taking advantage of the changing world.
That’s why no rugby league side in the world has as many Twitter followers as the eight time Super League Champions who have a huge following of 200,000 followers on twitter.
However, right now those followers are of little use to the club.
That’s because their Twitter page is seemingly experiencing major technical difficulties.
The page itself isn’t loading for any of their thousands of supporters and it has their fans on Twitter concerned questioning what has happened.
Aptly, their last tweet before this collapse was revealing that legend Kevin Sinfield had raised over ÂŁ2 million in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease in the name of good friend and fellow club legend Rob Burrow with his latest fundraising running seven ultramarathons in seven days.
However, after that and a week of great coverage on Twitter of Sinfield’s fundraising their ability to produce more great content has been limited by the problems being suffered.
This could perhaps be delaying the announcement of a major signing.
The club is chasing a new centre after the loss of Zak Hardaker and Liam Sutcliffe.
They are expected to sign Leigh Leopards star Nene MacDonald with Rugby League Live reporting that a deal had been agreed whilst Yorkshire Evening Post previously reported that they are considering three or four targets.
Whether or not Leeds sign MacDonald, these technical difficulties could delay the announcement especially if what Rugby League Live says is true and the deal is already done and the only remaining thing to do is announce it.
