Leeds Rhinos starlet Morgan Gannon secures impressive A Level results as he discusses his future

It’s one thing excelling on the rugby league field, but it’s another being able to do that when you’re still in college.

That’s exactly what Leeds Rhinos starlet Morgan Gannon has been able to achieve.

The fair-haired forward not only secured a double in Leeds’ win over Hull KR last week at Craven Park, Gannon was able to accrue two As and a B in his A Level results.

The 18-year-old, like millions of other young people in the UK, either opened a letter or an email to see if all the hard work over the past two years has paid off – and it definitely has for Gannon.

Leeds tweeted: “Congratulations to @MorganGannon13 on getting 2 As and a B in his A Level results fresh from a two-try Man of the Match winning performance last week at Hull KR, is there nothing this young man can’t do!! Well done from everyone at the Rhinos.”

“It’s satisfying knowing I’ve put the work in and I’ve got what I wanted, it makes it worth it,” Gannon told Rhinos TV.

“It gives me a few options as to what I want to do obviously with universities and stuff.

“It’s been tough, there were some days when I had to come home from training and I didn’t feel like doing work, but looking back now it is all worth it.”

Gannon has been one of the most impressive youngsters to break through in Super League in recent seasons, performing to an incredibly high standard whenever given the chance by either Richard Agar or Rohan Smith.

It’s fair to say that the teenager has a big future ahead of him whatever field he decides to go down, but Leeds fans will be hoping that he maintains his love for the club and becomes a stalwart at Headingley.
