Leeds Rhinos star says culture at the club is “building”

After scoring in a Grand Final defeat to St Helens, Leeds Rhinos skipper and star hooker Kruise Leeming is keen on going on step further in 2023 no doubt more so after missing out on England’s Rugby League World Cup squad.

In the cold of pre-season, Leeming spoke to the club’s YouTube channel and explained that the spirits in the squad were high despite the weather:

“Spirits are really high but yeah it is tough especially told in the cold on the 3G, it’s rock hard.

“It’s going well, the lads have come in with high spirits.”

He went on to underline the growing culture that exists at Headingley as they look to end a six year wait for Grand Final glory, their longest wait for a Grand Final win since their first in 2004:

“I feel fit, I feel really fresh. I just can’t wait to get playing.

“The culture around the team is building. I think it is really important that for everyone who comes in that they understand the culture that we’ve got and the lads and the ethos around training is fantastic.”

Leeming has also thrown his hat in the ring to play against Wakefield Trinity on Boxing Day joking saying: “You have to watch what you eat on Christmas.”
