Leeds Rhinos star picks up maximum Man of Steel points despite Castleford defeat

George Williams has closed the gap on Man of Steel leader Jordan Abdull down to just one point.

George Williams picked up two points in Warrington Wolves’ win over Leigh Leopards this week.

This was the only game where only one team’s players picked up points.

Despite defeat Brad Fash, Adam Swift, Seb Ikahihifo, Jez Litten and Mason Lino all picked up points.

Meanwhile, despite defeat Leeds Rhinos star Richie Myler picked up the full three points.

CASTLEFORD TIGERS V LEEDS RHINOS
Richie Myler secured maximum Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel points after a valiant display in a losing side against the Tigers on Thursday Night. Stand in Cas full-back Greg Eden slotted into the side seamlessly to pick up two points, whilst Bureta Faraimo’s two try contribution was enough to land him the final Man of Steel point.

ST HELENS V HULL FC
Young outside back Jon Bennison was rewarded for his two try display against Hull FC, receiving three Man of Steel points in Round 5. Hull FC’s Brad Fash worked tirelessly through the middle to earn two points, with former Saint Adam Swift collecting the remaining Man of Steel point.

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS V WIGAN WARRIORS
Bevan French had a busy evening for the Warriors in Round 5 – the winger crossed for two tries and collected three Man of Steel points. Wigan centre Jake Wardle was a constant threat against his former side and was rewarded with two Man of Steel points, whilst Giants front rower Seb Ikahihifo collected the final point.

WARRINGTON WOLVES V LEIGH LEOPARDS
Warrington’s flying full-back Matt Dufty recorded a try and try assist to help him earn three Man of Steel points in Round 5. George Williams’ impressive start to the 2023 season continued against Leigh as he picked up two points, whilst the imposing Paul Vaughan maintained his dominant form to pick up the final point.

CATALANS DRAGONS V HULL KR
Tom Johnstone’s blistering start to life in the South of France picked up more pace in Round 5. The Dragons winger picked up three more Man of Steel points following an eye-catching hat-trick on Saturday. Adam Keighran’s stocks continued to rise after earning two points, with Hull KR’s Jez Litten received the final Man of Steel point.

SALFORD RED DEVILS V WAKEFIELD TRINITY
Marc Sneyd was the hero for Salford in Round 5 – his drop goal earned his side a golden point win as he picked up maximum Man of Steel points. Mason Lino was a standout for Trinity and earned two Man of Steel points, whilst Salford centre Deon Cross was the recipient of the final point.
