Leeds Rhinos player reveals the signing is “pushing us to be better players”

Leeds Rhinos

Some players don’t enjoy pre-season as it often involves a huge amount of fitness work as teams prepare for the new season.

However one Leeds Rhinos player is loving it as it represents a chance for him to get involved having not played a single game for the club in 2022 due to injuries and suspension.

That is of course Tom Holroyd who, when speaking to the club’s YouTube channel, revealed that he is enjoying his pre-season:

“Yeah it’s good to be in training, good to be in pre-season, it’s going well. We’re all fit and strong and training the way we’re meant to be.”

The prop is keen for the new season an desperate to be involved in the Boxing Day friendly against Wakefield Trinity:

“I can’t wait to be honest, it has been a long time since I played for Leeds. I can’t wait for the season to get going.

“I’m hoping to be involved against Wakefield, it’s my first shot at playing for Leeds in a long time and a way to kick start next year for me and have a good season.”

He faces serious competition for a spot in the side next year after the club signed Sam Lisone from Gold Coast Titans having brought in Justin Sangare from Toulouse.

Holroyd is very impressed with Sanagre and believes he is helping him push on to be a better player:

“It’s good having Justin around, I get to challenge myself against a big body so it benefits me. It will bring the best out of me. He’s challenging us to be better and pushing us to be better players.”
