Leeds Rhinos’ Kruise Leeming reveals where he wants the Magic Weekend to be held

The Magic Weekend is one of the favourite concepts for a Super League fan ever since its inception back in 2007.

Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle have all hosted the showpiece event, but there have been calls to either make it a permanent home in Newcastle or keep on switching venues each year.

For Leeds Rhinos star Kruise Leeming, he has identified one particular stadium which he would love to play at.

“I never got the chance to play at Manchester City’s ground when it was on there and I would like to do that,” Leeming told the Rugby League Review podcast.

That in itself is a choice out of left field considering that the Eswatini-born (formerly Swaziland) hooker is a Manchester United supporter.

“I’m a United fan, but I don’t really watch football, I’m not a massive football fan.

“I wouldn’t be able to name the whole Manchester United squad but I’m a Cristiano Ronaldo fan and I love the icons of sport like Ronaldo, Tiger Woods and Micheal Jordan.

“So when he come back to play in the Premier League I thought I’m definitely going to watch him.”

The 2022 event will once more take place at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park.
