Kristian Woolf adresses Joey Lussick and transfer rumours

Kristian Woolf was interviewed live on Sky Sports prior to St Helens’ clash with Castleford last night about the speculation in the media.

One of those names who Saints are linked with is Joey Lussick – who helped Salford reach their first-ever Grand Final back in 2019 – but when asked about the potential target by Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks, Woolf kept his cards close to his chest.

“I’m not going to talk about names that get tossed in the media,” Woolf said.

“We’ve been linked with players in the media and I can tell you we’ve got nothing to do with them.

“We do need to make a few signings though because we are losing some players, but that will be further down the line and I’m sure you’ll hear about it then.”

Saints have already signed 29-year-old centre/fullback Will Hopoate for 2022 and beyond following the departure of Kevin Naiqama at the end of the season.

James Bentley will be a Leeds player next season, with the injured Theo Fages joining Huddersfield.
