Kevin Brown gives honest verdict on Hull FC fullback Jake Connor

Jake Connor is an absolute maverick – there is no denying that.

But, England head coach Shaun Wane must have had his reasons for deciding not to choose him in his 30-man training squad.

For former Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils halfback Kevin Brown, Connor is what makes Hull FC tick.

Without Connor playing well, Hull don’t – something which Brown was eager to express last week before FC dismantled Leeds Rhinos.

“If Jake Connor plays well they win, and if he doesn’t, they lose,” Brown said live on The Sportsman.

I’ve not seen two more contrasting performances from one player swing his team so far.

“Last week against Salford it was the best individual performance I’ve seen in Super League, against Castleford it was one of the worst.”

It was another incredible individual performance Connor put in against Leeds as his Black and Whites ran riot at Headingley.

And, all eyes will be on the Hull fullback as they host Huddersfield Giants on Sunday afternoon, with the Giants themselves in a stellar bit of form with four wins in five games.
