Kevin Brown claims Super League side are expecting to lose

Tonight is a big game for Wakefield Trinity as they look to finally pick up their first win of the season and create a battle at the bottom.

Last week they pushed league leaders Warrington Wolves all the way and are hoping they can find a way to defeat in form Hull FC this week.

However, Kevin Brown believes that Wakefield go into games expecting to lose.

“They scored a few tries which I think is a massive positive, it’s been an area where they’ve not looked like scoring which makes it even more difficult to keep the opposition out,” Brown said on BBC Five Live.

“They’ve always been difficult to beat but it just seems that they’ve lost their confidence. I think Wakey are expecting to lose, the fans are expecting to lose and even a losing result like that against Warrington is classed as a success. That shows how far Wakey have gone down.”

He also believes that this Wakefield side are better than the Toulouse side who suffered relegation in 2023.

“There are definite positives and I do think they’ll catch someone at home. I think they’re a better team than Toulouse and Toulouse ended up getting their act together and winning a few games.

“It will snowball, once they start scoring a few tries and they get in front I think that belief will come back quite quick but it needs to happen soon.”
