Jon Wilkin was critical of the Warrington Wolves in 2o22 as they slumped to 11th in the league.
He then heaped on the pressure on Daryl Powell at the start of the season as did many others but that pressure has seemingly sparked Warrington into brilliant form to start the season with the Wire downing the two teams who lost the major finals last year in the shape of Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants.
Now Wilkin has said that the Wolves are looking “tasty” to start the season.
Wilkin said on Sky Sports: “Super League started really strong, the opening round was really strong and the clubs put so much production into them and it felt like a party atmosphere at Warrington and Leigh and that continued into Round Two.
“I was particularly impressed by Warrington’s performance at Huddersfield and especially Matty Ashton who scored two tries going the length of the field, he is really talented.
“Warrington had defended 10 or 11 plays against them against a really good Huddersfield side, last year they would have conceded and crumbled.
“I know it’s early but they are looking tasty.”
