Jarrod Sammut in talks with new club over move

Jarrod Sammut has most recently been plying his trade in the Championship with the London Broncos.

However, after playing nine games for the capital club in 2021, he wasn’t re-signed following the end of the season.

That means that the 34-year-old is currently without a club, and, as such, has been looking around for somewhere new to place his hat – which could be soon.

“It’s tough going at minute but I’m not the only one fortunately,” Sammut told Serious About Rugby League.

“I’m speaking with a club, but just seeing what they have to say before I commit.”

Despite being on the wrong side of 30, the mercurial halfback – who has had spells at Wakefield Trinity, Bradford Bulls and Wigan Warriors – believes he can still go for numerous years before having to retire.

“I’d like to think I’ve still a good few years left in me playing rugby.

“I feel my body’s still in great shape and holding up to the constant demands to compete at the level and standards that I demand from myself.

“At the same time I do understand my time within the game is approaching the back end of my career and that transition for life after rugby will be on me before I know it.”
