Last night Leeds Rhinos’ winning run came to an end against Castleford Tigers.
The Rhinos won the last two against St Helens and Wakefield Trinity turning around their disappointing start to the season.
On form, Leeds should have beaten the Tigers then who were winless going into the game and the Rhinos even led 8-6 at the break.
But in the second half the Rhinos let themselves down with ill-discipline as well as a number of errors.
After the game, Leeds legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan slammed the errors the Rhinos made saying that back in his day Danny McGuire and others would have “poked me in the eyes” if he made errors like that.
He said on Sky Sports:
“Some of it for me lacked discipline, lacked care. It was careless. Short kick offs that go out on the full, poor play the balls.
“I thought they lacked energy and discipline. If I’d have done that back in the day I’d have got a rollicking.
“It’s your craft, your professionalism. I’m not trying to be judgemental, it’s not done on purpose but if I’d have done that Danny McGuire would have run across the pitch and poked me in the eyes and tell me ‘you can’t do that, it’s your discipline.'”
