Injury Corner: Leeds Rhinos sweat over duo as Warrington Wolves have key concern

Injuries are part and parcel of sport – especially a sport as physical and as tough as rugby league.

A significant amount of muscle tissue problems as well as more longer-term issues such as MCLs and ACLs are becoming more common with players being subject to rigorous rehab programs in order to get back out onto the field as quickly as possible.

Therefore, we thought it would be a good idea to note which stars succumbed to injuries in round one.

With Super League kicking off at the weekend, there were injuries from four of the six games played, with three concerning issues in one particular game.

St Helens v Catalans Dragons
Julian Bousquet (Catalans Dragons) – arm
Tyrone May (Catalans Dragons) – eye

Hull KR v Wigan Warriors
Iain Thornley (Wigan Warriors) – leg

Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves
Richard Myler (Leeds Rhinos) – leg
David Fusitu’a (Leeds Rhinos) – head
Daryl Clark (Warrington Wolves) – head

Wakefield Trinity v Hull FC
Lee Gaskell (Wakefield Trinity) – elbow
Ligi Sao (Hull FC) – head

There have been no timeframes of the seven injuries suffered by the current stars listed above.
