Injured Raiders centre set to play in NRL Grand Final

Canberra Raiders centre Joseph Leilua left the field during the second half of his side’s victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Friday night clutching at his calf.

Since then it has been revealed that the 27-year old suffered from a burst blood vessel in his calf, however latest reports this morning suggest that the centre is recovering well and is set to be announced in the Raiders’ 21 man team list on Tuesday afternoon.

Whilst the Samoan representative has made limited appearances in 2019 with 11 games under his belt, he has been influential when on the field for the green machine, with 4 tries, 2 try assists, 42 tackle breaks, 5 line breaks, has averaged 98.8 running metres per game and has made 109 tackles for an efficiency rate of 84.9%

If past years are anything to go by, we likely will not know for sure if Leilua is playing until the night before or day of the NRL Grand Final, however it looks likely he will play.
