“I am sick of it” – Leeds star opens up on serious injury

Jack Walker’s injury nightmare may soon be over as the fullback steps up preparations for a return, the Yorkshire Evening Post has revealed.

The Leeds man suffered a foot injury in February last year before returning, only for the injury to flare up at the start of 2021.

The original prognosis wasn’t good, with Walker predicted to miss the entirety of this campaign after spending two months on crutches and five weeks in a protective boot.

But, that boot will be removed in a week, with the fullback slowly on the road to recovery.

“Then I can start cracking on with some solid rehab’, strengthening my ankle and my calf – the standard things to start with, then we can build into jogging and maybe running,” Walker said.

“I just want to get the boot off, I am sick of it.”

The 21-year-old feels he can make it back stronger than ever.

“I am mentally in a very good place,” he stated.

“I am the strongest I’ve ever been and that’s the main thing really.”
