Hull KR star signing gives important injury update

Willie Peters is about to start a new era at Craven Park with Hull KR as he takes over in Hull from Tony Smith who is across the city now with Hull FC.

Peters has made some impressive signings as he looks to guide the Robins back to the play-offs in 2023 after the dropped from a sixth place finish and a semi-final appearance in 2021 to eighth in 2022.

He has signed James Batchelor from Wakefield Trinity, Sam Luckley from Salford Red Devils and of course Louis Senior from Huddersfield Giants.

However, he has also made some big signings from the NRL such as Rhys Kennedy.

But one of their big names from down under is Tom Opacic who has been dealing with an injury.

That said, the centre who will wear the number three shirt in 2023, has revealed on the Robins’ twitter page that his rehab is going well during the club’s warm weather camp.

He said:

“First couple of days I started pretty slow after a long flight and the change in weather, but I’m hoping to be back on the field by the end of the week.”

Meanwhile, the centre is keen to develop certain areas of his game when he does start training:

“I want to be building combinations and learning moves.”

Hull KR start this season as they finished last season – at home against Wigan Warriors.

This game is on Channel 4 on February 18th.
