Hull FC v Warrington Wolves: Player ratings and major talking points

What was an eagerly anticipated fixture turned out to be a rather flat affair as Hull FC and Warrington Wolves played out a draw at the KCOM stadium. There was plenty of drama but far from the quality these two are capable of serving up as both clubs played their part in the first draw of 2021.

Major Talking Points:

1. History made as golden point strikes again

Hull FC and Warrington Wolves played out the very first draw in Super League history after the conclusion of golden point. Unlike the history made by their arch-rivals on Friday, this was a story of what could have been for the Black and Whites as a last gasp Jake Mamo try denied the hosts all the points and led to the creation of history.

2. Field-goal practice

The teams exchanged multiple attempts at a field-goal, with Jake Connor, Marc Sneyd, Blake Austin and Gareth Widdop leading the way. Practice makes perfect and that is something both clubs will have to learn moving forward.

3. Composure

It was errors galore from both teams as obvious nerves crept in throughout the match. After a tryless first half, both teams finally found a way through, but it remained ugly throughout as a contest. Both sides drastically need improvement based on this showing.
