Hull FC in injury crisis as yet another star ruled out for rest of season

Hull FC have been doing it tough with injuries in 2021 with the likes of Josh Griffin, Jamie Shaul and Scott Taylor having faced/facing long periods out of the season.

And, following Hull’s defeat to Salford at the weekend, head coach Brett Hodgson has some more injury concerns to deal with.

“Jack Brown has partially torn a muscle in the shoulder, so he’s done for the year and will go in for an operation next week,” Hodgson said.

“Scott Taylor has a back issue from the Hull derby, we will give him every chance but it’s doubtful.”

Hodgson could see a key duo return, but will leave it until latest as possible to see if both Jamie Shaul and Carlos Tuimavave will turn out at the weekend against Leeds.

“Jamie Shaul and Carlos Tuimavave, whether or not they will be fit enough yet remains to be seen.

“We will name them and see if they get fit.”

Hodgson has also revealed that his players have had serious chats about the defeat at Salford.

“We need our best team out there to ask as many questions as we can of a good defensive team and that’s the challenge against Leeds.

“We were well below par last weekend and the players have had a good chat about how they can fix that.

“I’ve seen a reaction in the ownership of the player group about what can be better.”
