Hull FC and Hull KR have released a joint statement following a racist incident involving one of their players.
The statement reads: “Hull FC & Hull KR are united in condemning all forms of discrimination and are appalled by online racism from an individual directed towards a Hull KR player following the Good Friday Derby.
“An isolated incident of online abuse has been brought to the attention of both clubs and the police, with the clubs unified in urging the toughest punishments possible.
“The player has received appropriate support.
“Along with the wider sport of rugby league, both clubs will continue to do all they can to address discrimination and condemn all forms of online abuse of any kind.
