Huddersfield have confirmed that two more players have left their squad, with Innes Senior and Tom Holmes.
Young outside back Senior has been loaned out to Wakefield again, after spending the end of the 2020 season with Chris Chester’s side.
Holmes, meanwhile, has departed permanently to pursue an opportunity in the Championship.
Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis told the club’s official website: “The new era under Ian Watson continues to take shape ahead of our return to train in early January.
“These moves are linked to other recruitment matters with the overall objective being to have a reduced squad in 2021 but one of course packed with quality that can challenge for honours.
“In Tom’s case the signing of NRL halfback/hooker Jack Cogger alongside James Cunningham did make his path into the first team more difficult and he is a player that has a number of options open to him which he is keen to explore and ultimately he will take one of them.
“He leaves with our best wishes for the future and thanks for his time with us.
“In the case of Innes he is a player that as things stand we see having a long term future at our club. His issue is one that will face many players of his age in the game in 2021 with no reserve competition and the RFL having removed the dual-registration option.
“Everyone here feels that to improve significantly he needs regular game time and it was seen from his spell at Wakefield towards the end of last year how he benefited from that. It’s a tough call for us to make but Wakefield are keen for another year and Ian is comfortable with the numerous options we have on the wings to be able to let Innes have a year out and work with Chris Chester across at Belle View.”
The duo join the likes of Suaia Matagi, Jordan Turner and Aaron Murphy in leaving the Giants.
