Grant Millington is most famous for his incredible work ethic and superb talent on a rugby league field, but he has seemingly found a new role as bingo caller, the Pontefract & Castleford Express has revealed.
Buzz Bingo has opened up a new club on Albion Street, Castleford after taking over the Majestic Bingo club – which used to be a firm favourite amongst the locals.
Millington was present as the new club opened on August 5 with a formal opening night celebration held on Saturday, meeting locals and even taking part in a game with his booming voice calling out the winning numbers.
It ushers in a new bingo era in Castleford, with Majestic Bingo having been closed since last November and only being able to reopen due to Buzz Bingo’s support.
Millington, 34, has been at Castleford Tigers since 2012, registering almost 250 appearances and establishing himself as one of the club’s greatest ever Australian signings.
Whether or not the forward will continue into 2022 remains to be seen, but his legacy at the Jungle – and, indeed, in the surrounding area – continues to be felt.
