Former Castleford Tigers and Leigh Leopards winger Jy Hitchcox given exciting opportunity by Australian coach as he looks for new club

Jy Hitchcox is looking for a new club at present.

The Leigh Leopards winger was let go by the rebranded Leopards at the end of the 2022 season.

He even issued a come get me plea on Twitter as he looks to continue to be a ruthless finisher.

This week, the former Castleford Tigers winger has had the chance to show his worth to some of the best in the world including Australia coach Mal Meninga as he took part in the Green and Golds training sessions as they prepare for their World Cup quarter-final against Lebanon on Friday night at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Hitchcox is still presently looking for a new team, but if he has impressed whilst working with the Australia squad he will have no shortage of suitors going into 2023.

The winger started his career at Wests Tigers prior to a move to Featherstone Rovers in 2015 where he scored 15 tries in 25 games before moving to Castleford Tigers.

In 2017, he helped the Tigers to the League Leaders’ Shield and played in the Grand Final due to the situation surrounding Zak Hardaker at fullback.

In 2019, after loan spells at Halifax, Batley and Bradford, he joined the latter permanently prior to joining Toulouse Olympique in 2020. He helped the club to promotion in 2021 and joined the then Leigh Centurions in 2022.

Having had the chance to train with some of the best players in the world, Hitchcox is looking for a new club and will bring plenty of quality.
