Exclusive: Update on Featherstone Rovers recruitment ahead of 2023

Featherstone Rovers have already added some quality signings to their 2023 squad under new boss and former Leeds Rhinos assistant Sean Long as they go in search of Super League promotion in 2023.

They were one of the favourites for promotion in 2022 but their year ended in disappointment when they lost in the play-off semi-finals to Batley Bulldogs missing out on the Championship Grand Final.

However, they have made signings to change this such as the arrival of Riley Dean on loan from Warrington Wolves, ex-Wigan Warriors centre Chris Hankinson who arrives from Toulouse Olympique and Catalans Dragons forward Mathieu Cozza.

There has been talk that there could be further signings at the club, but when approached by Serious About Rugby League, a spokesperson from the club said that the club is always looking to strengthen the squad but that they are happy with the strength of their squad going into 2023.

He said: “We will always look to strengthen our squad if and when opportunities present themselves.

“That said, we have already amassed a strong and competitive squad for the 2023 campaign and additions to that squad would be minimal.”

The Rovers are set to take on Castleford Tigers in just under two hours in a pre-season friendly.
