Exclusive: Catalans Dragons star Sam Tomkins set for Channel 4 TV appearance

If there is one player that every young player needs to listen to it is Sam Tomkins.

The Catalans Dragons star has been one of the most devastating fullbacks of his time with numerous individual and team accolades under his belt as well as national and Great Britain caps.

In recent years, Tomkins has been instrumental in Catalans’ success with a determination and passion that has rubbed off on his fellow teammates, whilst it is no coincidence that the Milton Keynes-born star is enjoying some of the best rugby of his career.

Having settled in seamlessly in the south of France, Tomkins continues to reiterate his desire to retire at Catalans and then even go into a coaching role at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.

But, recently, the fullback has added another string to his bow in terms of churning out TV appearances for Channel 4 and Sky Sports and his insight has been tremendously received.

And, now Serious About Rugby League can exclusively reveal that Tomkins will be part of the Channel 4 set-up for tomorrow’s live game between Huddersfield Giants and the Salford Red Devils.

He will be alongside Adam Hills, Helen Skelton and Danika Priim as pundits whilst Mark Wilson and Kyle Amor will be in the commentary box.

Overall, Channel 4 has been so well received by the rugby league fraternity that there is a great deal of clamouring for the terrestrial broadcaster to be given more than the ten games they were given access to in 2022.

Whilst tomorrow’s live game will be the last one of the regular Super League season, two play-off fixtures will be broadcast on Channel 4.

Saturday 10th September will host one Super League play-off with the time yet to be confirmed as 3rd takes on 6th or 4th goes up against 5th.

ā€‹Then, the second week of the play-offs will be held on Saturday 17th September as 1st takes on the lowest-ranked side or 2nd does battle against the highest-ranked side with Sky having first choice.
