Not long ago, Ben Harrison’s story was an uplifting one.
The former Warrington forward had come out of retirement to figure for Barrow Raiders and even used Rob Burrow as his inspiration.
However, the Challenge Cup winner at Warrington would soon be making headlines of the wrong kind when he was accused of possessing several class C drugs prompting him to leave Barrow in 2021.
Set to return to court after being charged with possessing the drugs at the same time as his driving offence which subsequently got him a driving ban and given a £600 fine, the charges have now been dropped.
This comes after there was no response from the police after court was adjourned in March to see if the police felt a caution would be a more appropriate action.
Good news then for the three-time Challenge Cup winner and two-time Grand Finalist who spent over a decade at Warrington. The Ireland international retired not long after that but returned to the sport for Barrow in 2021 only for this incident to end his comeback prematurely.
