Channel 4 set to show rugby league documentary this week about “Mr Rugby League”

As Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, Leigh Leopards, Hull KR, Halifax Panthers and Batley Bulldogs head over to Wembley this weekend we are set to celebrate the inclusivity of our great sport yet again as the Women’s Challenge Cup Final finally makes its way to Wembley.

We have seen so many examples of how inclusive the sport is over recent times such as the four World cups that took place at once last year with England winning the Wheelchair World Cup and the PDRL World Cup.

Speaking of which, on Friday night at 11:05pm on Channel 4 we will see a documentary called Adam Hills: Grow Another Foot which is the story of the PDRL World Cup and well worth a watch.

Hills tweeted:

“Grow Another Foot, my documentary about the Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup is on Channel 4 this Friday at 11.05pm. The reviews are in, and they’re great! It’ll be on Paramount Plus in Australia from Sep 1.”

In it he is described as “Mr Rugby League.”

It is the perfect start to the Challenge Cup Final weekend and BBC Sport will complete another hat-trick of Challenge Cup Finals on Sunday week (August 20) when the Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final between Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons is shown live on iPlayer (KO 1pm) – and also the BBC Sport website and app, meaning it will be accessible in France and well beyond.

The repeat of the 2022 Final, which the Rhinos won 48-34 to complete a hat-trick of Cup wins, will follow this Saturday’s historic double header of Women’s and Men’s Finals at Wembley Stadium – which will be live on BBC2 and BBC1 respectively, with the Rhinos also involved in the first ever Women’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, where they will face St Helens.

The 2023 Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final will be played at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield – and a limited number of tickets are still available – also including the Challenge Trophy Final kicking off at 11am in which Sheffield Eagles will hope to capitalise on home advantage against Gravesend Dynamite.

It should be a fantastic weekend for the sport.
