Castleford v Salford: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

For the second week in a row, Castleford take on Salford. However, this week the prize on offer isn’t two competition points but rather a place in the Challenge Cup semi-finals. Castleford are undoubtedly the favourites but given their recent affinity with knock out rugby, Salford can’t be counted out.

The Tigers have been hit by injury in recent weeks. Greg Eden has joined the likes of Sosaia Feki, Suaia Matagi and Alex Foster in the treatment room. Cheyse Blair and Sam Hall have also dropped out of the 21 man squad. Meanwhile, Tyla Hepi continues to be absent through suspension. However, Daniel Smith and Jordan Turner could return to the side. Turner will likely retake the wing spot following Eden’s injury however James Clare is also an option. He’ll hope to make his first appearance of the season.

For Salford the chopping and changing continues. Andy Ackers, Krisnan Inu, Morgan Escare and Josh Johnson have all been dropped from this week’s squad. Meanwhile Dan Sarginson, Elijah Taylor, Ryan Lannon and Dec Patton could all return from injury however it’s perhaps unlikely all will play. Nonetheless, massive changes are expected once again.
