Castleford Tigers drop overseas player with new signing set for debut

The head coaches of Castleford Tigers and Salford Red Devils have announced their 21-man squads for their match on Friday night.

The Tigers have had a wretched start to 2024, remaining winless and losing all of their first six games in a season for the first time since 2004.

They’ve made just one change from the 21-man squad for their Rivals Round defeat to Leeds Rhinos, with Sylvester Namo potentially making his second first-team appearance after coming in for Albert Vete.

Head coach Craig Lingard remains without fullback Luke Hooley due to a shoulder injury, and are missing big names in George Griffin, Muizz Mustapha and Jason Qareqare.

Will Tate, Rowan Milnes and Fletcher Rooney are also out through injury.

Their squad again includes Paul McShane, who returned last week after a long-term injury.

Salford have a shorter injury list, with Chris Hankinson & Brad Singleton out until mid-May.

Adam Sidlow remains out also, but should be back in action soon.

They are, therefore, able to name a strong side, with the likes of Man of Steel front-runner Marc Sneyd and Kallum Watkins named.

Nene Macdonald, after going off injured in their win over Leigh Leopards, is included.

They also make just one change, as Kai Morgan drops out.

Neither side have any particular disciplinary issues to worry about.

Below are the full 21-man squads.
