Richie Myler speaks out on latest Hull FC signing

Hull FC

Hull FC have already gone about a number of signings for 2025 with Tom Briscoe returning to his old club whilst fellow Leigh star John Asiata will arrive in 2025, and the Black and Whites have now landed a signing from across the city.

Yusuf Aydin has been on loan at Hull FC this season from Hull KR but he’s now made the permanent switch from the East of Hull to the West, which FC sending forward Jack Brown the other way.

Hull KR confirmed the signing of Jack Brown earlier today with Hull FC reporting on Aydin’s arrival minutes later. Both men have signed two-and-a-half-year deals with their respective new clubs.

It marks a rarity with the two clubs engaging in a swap deal, but ultimately it’s one that both sides deem will benefit them with Aydin earning a stronger chance at playing time and childhood Robin Brown earning a shot with his boyhood club.

Aydin lined up for Hull FC when they faced Warrington Wolves but he now makes his move permanent, tying himself to FC until the end of the 2026 season.

Speaking as part of the club’s statement confirming his arrival, he said:  “I’m really looking forward to staying with Hull FC on a permanent deal.

“Right from the get go, everyone made me feel so welcome and not once did I feel out of place.”

He went on to credit both the interim coach Simon Grix and the newly appointed Director of Rugby Richie Myler.

“Simon [Grix] and Richie [Myler] were keen to bring me to the club and that gave me so much confidence. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I want to be able to repay them for their faith in me.

“I’m really eager now to give my all for this club and I look forward to playing in the famous Black & White colours front of a really passionate, loyal group of supporters.”

That same statement saw quotes from Richie Myler who explained the reasoning behind signing Aydin, the Turkish international having left Hull KR after just a year and a half.

Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Richie Myler, said: “We’re delighted to have made Yusuf’s move to us permanent.

“His application of the past fortnight has shown a real desire to compete and be a part of what we are building here.”

Myler also paid credit to the man heading the other way within the deal, adding: “We’d also like to wish Jack Brown well for the future as he embarks on a new challenge with Hull KR, and thank him for his efforts with Black & Whites.”
