
Justin Carney potentially faces a long ban after been charged with Grade F “verbal abuse based on race/colour” following Salford’s game with Toronto yesterday.
The winger was sent off for the alleged slur with reports suggesting it was aimed at Toronto prop Ryan Bailey.
Carney must now attend a hearing at Red Hall tomorrow and his charge, the most severe level a player can receive, carries a minimum eight-match suspension.
Elsewhere, Hull prop Liam Watts has been charged with a Grade B High Tackle after he was sent off for the hit on Castleford’s Luke Gale yesterday.
Huddersfield full-back Darnell McIntosh is charged with Grade A Punching and Warrington forward Joe Philbin faces a Grade A charge for tripping, however he does have an Early Guilty Plea available to him.
