Burgess ruled out of Lions tour

English International and South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Sam Burgess will not be partaking in the Great Britain Lions upcoming tour.

Burgess has been ruled out due to an ongoing shoulder problem that will likely require surgery.

Whilst the front-rower will miss the Lions’ tour, he will likely be back in time for the start of the 2020 NRL season with his Rabbitohs.

Burgess has had issues with both injury and suspension in 2019, most recently being suspended for 1 game for a hair pulling charge in round 25 of the NRL season against the Sydney Roosters.
