Brian Carney says he finds it “uncomfortable” watching this Super League side

Leeds Rhinos are a strange team to watch in 2023.

They can be mesmeric at times but also flat and that has created a real inconsistency in their performances this season which is why Brian Carney has said he finds them uncomfortable to watch at times unlike coach Rohan Smith.

“When I watch Rohan Smith, I get the feeling, I might be wrong with this, but he is not uncomfortable with this. I am uncomfortable watching, I am unsure, I am uncomfortable,” Carney said on Sky Sports.

“He seems assured, relaxed and much more holistic.”

Meanwhile, Jon Wilkin branded Rohan Smith a mystery:

“I’m not sure I have an emotional read on Rohan Smith as of yet. That’s a mystery. He seems comfortable with the way they are playing at times but maybe a little uncomfortable with the league position they are in.

“They are not where they want to be at this moment in time.

“I got criticised and called out by Leeds fans for saying they’re not being quite as good, they have an expectation at this club to be second, third or fourth in the league and they’re not there.”

He then joked: “I’m going to stop doing it. Leeds are brilliant I love them.”
