Brett Hodgson set to welcome back trio, but three forwards remain long-term casualties

Brett Hodgson will welcome back three suspended stars for his side’s fixture against Catalans, but continues to see three front-rowers in the treatment room.

Masi Matongo, Scott Taylor and Josh Bowden are still sat on the sidelines as they recover from injury, but Jake Connor, Brad Fash and Bureta Faraimo are set to return following suspension.

And, in even better news for Hull, Josh Griffin and Danny Houghton will be included too after they were forced off in the Challenge Cup quarter-final against Wigan with head knocks.

“Yeah, they’re okay,” Hodgson said when asked about Griffin and Houghton. “I believe they’ve passed their HIA protocol that we’ve had to go through and they’ll be good to go.

“Jake Connor comes back into the mix obviously, as does Brad Fash.”

Masi Matongo, in particular, looks to be a long way off before returning, whilst Taylor and Bowden aren’t expected to be short-term casualties.

“He’s progressing well but there was quite substantial damage to his meniscus,” Hodgson said.

“Unfortunately he’ll be a few months and hopefully we’ll have him fit later on, towards the back end of the year.

“With that time will tell how he progresses and how he gets on.”
