Bradford Bulls suffer major injury blow

Bradford Bulls have suffered a major blow on the injury front over the weekend.

John Kear’s Bradford lost to Batley Bulldogs 28-22, but there was one notable absentee from the team sheet in former Leeds Rhinos halfback Jordan Lilley.

And, it was later confirmed in an interview with West Yorkshire Radio Rugby League that he suffered a PCL injury in training on Saturday, one day before the friendly with the Bulldogs.

It comes as a bitter blow for Bradford and Kear with Lilley expected to take the reins in the halves and, being one of the club’s most talented players, he will be missed in the early rounds of the Championship season.

The Bulls faithful will be hoping that their side can improve on their fifth-placed finish in 2021, where they failed to make any inroads in the play-offs.

Among the new signings hoping to propel the West Yorkshire side to glory in 2022 are the likes of Dec Patton, Samy Kibula and Jarrod O’Connor.

But, they will also have to contend with the likes of Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers who have recruited superbly heading into the new season.
