Barrow Raiders have bolstered their squad significantly for 2021 with the signing of experienced hooker Shaun Lunt.
The 33-year-old, who hails from Cumbria, has made over 300 career appearances throughout his career, winning the Super League title and League Leaders Shield along the way.
Having started his career with Castleford in 2005, Lunt impressed while playing for Workington and earned a shot at Super League with Huddersfield in 2009.
He went on to make 123 appearances for the Giants, scoring 70 tries and earning an England cap, and had a successful loan spell with Leeds in 2012, where he won the Super League Grand Final.
He moved to Hull KR in 2016 and, following a second loan stint with the Rhinos, signed for Batley ahead of 2020.
He will now return to his home county, where he will turn out for Paul Crarey’s side next season.
In a statement, the Raiders said: “Shaun was very impressed with the ambition of the club and coach Paul Crarey, and said that he has had both success at Super League and Championship level and was keen to lead the Raiders to the League One title to complete the set. Welcome aboard Shaun.”
