St Helens superstar signing Ben Barba will make his St Helens’ debut at full-back in Friday’s showdown against Wigan.
Justin Holbrook confirmed the decision in his pre-match press conference with the former Dally M Medal winner replacing Jonny Lomax in the No 1 role.
This could mean that Lomax is either dropped from the side altogether or will switch to the halves where he could take the place of Theo Fages or Matty Smith.
Young half-back Danny Richardson has featured on the bench in recent games but with one of Lomax, Fages or Smith likely to be on the bench, the 20-year-old could be the one to make way in the matchday squad.
The winner of Friday’s match at Langtree Park will put themselves in a good position to challenge for a top-four place with just three rounds remaining of the Super 8s after this weekend.
