Leeds Rhinos man reveals it took six weeks to recover from injury that ended Grand Final hopes

Morgan Gannon made a big impression at Leeds Rhinos when he debuted at 17 in 2021.

He ended up playing a big role in 2021 and a bigger one in 2022 after moving from the number 31 shirt to 21.

However, despite being seen as almost a guaranteed member of the 17 in the play-offs but he missed out on the Grand Final with concussion.

Speaking on the club’s YouTube channel, Gannon revealed it took six weeks to tick the boxes and get over the head knock as he opened up on missing the Grand Final:

“I’m all signed off now, we sort of took our time with, I think it took six weeks. But now I’m all good and I haven’t had any symptoms and that’s all ticked off.

“It was obviously disappointing but there is the future to look at, bigger picture and all that but just a shame to miss out on that big occasion.”

Now back in pre-season, he’s enjoying getting back into the thick of things:

“It’s been good, getting back into the routine of it. There have been some long days which have been tough.W

Meanwhile, he is keen to play in the Boxing Day friendly against Wakefield Trinity:

“I want a run out and hopefully I’ll be in that team.”
