Wigan Warriors unveil eccentric away kit for 2024 Super League season

Super League champions Wigan Warriors have unveiled a bold new away strip for the 2024 season – one that is sure to split opinion.

The Warriors revealed their new home kit earlier this evening featuring the club’s traditional colours and design, however the new away strip looks anything but traditional.

Designed by Kappa, the club described the kit as featuring a ‘bold colour palette consisting of azure and navy blue with a magenta trim’ on their official X (formerly Twitter) page after unveiling the new design.

As with the new home shirt, the new away jersey has the Wigan club badge located in the right with the Kappa logo in the middle. New principal partner ‘Greenmount Projects’ is on the front of the shirt (middle) with ‘Smalley Decorators’ sponsor on the left breast.

Initial reaction online to the ‘out there’ design is certainly mixed, with some fans unsure on the bold new look that will certainly make the Super League champions stand out on their travels throughout the 2024 season.

However, many Wigan supporters are on board with the new look with many stating that they will be purchasing the jersey, alongside the new home strip, in the coming days and weeks leading up to Christmas.

Fans can order both the new home and away kits online only at 6pm, with orders despatched early next week. If ordered via Click and Collect, you will receive confirmation via email once your order is ready to be collected.

The Club Store will be closed on Monday 20 November for stocking and will re-open for in-store sales from 10am-7pm on Tuesday 21 November. Kits are available in all sizes from 0-12 months up to 8XL, with adult shirts priced at £52, junior shirts at £38 and mini kits (including shorts and socks) priced at £42.

Speaking on the release of the new home shirt, Wigan Warriors Chief Executive, Kris Radlinski said: “As I mentioned when we announced the deal with Kappa, we have worked hard to create a really compelling product range for our players and fans.

“Both Men’s and Women’s players have been involved in the process from the beginning and we are delighted with the outcome.”
