Twitter thinks Wane the man to fix Wigan as fans respond to THAT Mamo interview – How social media reacted to Warrington’s win over Wigan

Last night, Warrington came up with a historic result at Wigan to pile further misery on the Warriors. The Wire continued their impressive form to pull further clear of Wigan in the table as the Warriors endured a difficult night in front of their own supporters. Well, that was my view but how did social media see it?

The opening stages of the game, although dominated by Warrington, were marred by a opinion splitting decision to disallow a Stefan Ratchford try for an alleged obstruction. It’s fair to say it left some Wolves fans flummoxed.

Ratchford was at the hub of everything Warrington did well in their dominant opening stages as was halfback partner Blake Austin. In the absence of star Gareth Widdop and with rumours circulating about his future, Austin came up with a brilliant display. It prompted Hull KR fans to hope that the recent rumours linking him to the Robins are true.

As the Wolves enjoyed the first 25 minutes, Wigan fans began to worry and voiced their concerns on twitter.

If he did turn it off he’d have missed a brilliant assist from Kai Pearce-Paul. Arguably Wigan’s best player on the night, plenty took to social media to praise him.

As Wigan got back into the game thanks to tries from Willie Isa and Oliver Gildart, Warrington fans began to sweat.

Jackson Hastings, unsurprisingly, was at the heart of the Wigan fightback and drew praise from all quarters.

In the end though, it was Warrington who ran away with the spoils and comfortably too largely down to Jake Mamo’s hat-trick. That earnt him the Man of the Match and another interview with Sky Sports and he made the most of it yet again with some brilliant lines as he discussed the strange ongoings at the heart of Warrington’s success.

Even Erol Crabtree got excited to hear what the Warrington centre had to say.

Unlike the always smiling Mamo, results at Wigan aren’t so positive at the minute. The Warriors suffered a fourth consecutive defeat last night and now languish in fifth. Some are even questioning Adrian Lam’s future.

On the other side of things, Warrington again look like serious contenders. However, it’s fair to say twitter reminded them that it is “always their year.”
