Wakefield v Leeds: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

For the third time this season Wakefield and Leeds butt heads in a West Yorkshire derby. Trinity will be looking to continue their recent good form having beaten Warrington and Hull KR in recent weeks and will certainly test the play-off chasing Rhinos.

Having found a winning formula, Willie Poching will likely look to avoid making wholesale changes today. However, the season-ending injury to Matty Ashurst creates a problem for Poching to solve. Thus, Kelepi Tanginoa may return to the backrow which is where many people believe he plays his best rugby. Meanwhile, Tinirau Arona could be recalled into the front row after missing the win against Hull KR. Elsewhere the return of Reece Lyne will boost their chances against their West Yorkshire rivals.

As for Leeds, they’re likely to make just one change to the 17 who beat Wigan with Callum McLelland once again available after an illness kept him out of last Wednesday’s win. Should Richard Agar look to return to a more natural halfback pairing, McLelland will take over at scrum-half enabling the in-form Kruise Leeming to move back to hooker and Brad Dwyer onto the bench. All of this means one of Leeds’ forwards could drop out of the team.
