Two Super League legends release stylish testimonial shirts

Rugby League is a brilliant sport in that it honours it’s own, particularly through the practice of testimonials, and now two Super League legends have launched special edition shirts prior to their testimonials in the  New Year.

McShane however will go again in 2024 but both men are set for testimonial matches early in the New Year.

Taylor’s former team Hull FC are set to play Super League champions Wigan Warriors on Sunday 4th February, the game doubling up as one of the team’s pre-season clashes.

For that event Taylor has now launched 100 special edition shirts that fans are able to purchase on a first come, first serve basis.

It will be the only chance for fans to get their hands on the shirt which features black and white sleeves with a thick black stripe across the chest.

Shirts are priced at £100 however fans get more than just the shirt with two tickets also part of the package, whilst all shirts will also have a name of the buyers choice embedded into the shirt.

Moreover each shirt purchased comes with a chance to land a match worn shirt as well, a great opportunity for those who are huge Hull FC fans or fans of Tag himself.

Upon being awarded his testimonial year the prop stated: “Having reached 300 career appearances last August, I’m truly honoured and delighted to have been awarded a twelve month testimonial by the RFL for services to the game at club and international level, starting on April 1st.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all my team mates, coaches and colleagues, both past and present, and right through from my amateur days with Skirlaugh, to my professional and international career – I will forever be grateful and indebted to them for their incredible support.”

As for Paul McShane he’s also released an incredibly stylish shirt for his testimonial match, the Castleford hooker making the shirts available for pre-order with limited numbers available once again.

His testimonial year recognises his 14 years within the game, McShane taking to social media at the time stating: “Recently I have been granted a 12-month testimonial by the RFL for 2024 season. In 2024 I will be heading into my 15th season having made my debut in 2009.

“Having played over 300 career games, combined with coaching my amateur club for 10-plus years, being honoured with a testimonial is something that I am truly grateful for.”
