Hull FC face a nervous wait after referee Chris Kendall put an incident on report during the first half of their clash with London Broncos.
The incident happened as the teams packed down for a scrum in the 10th minute of the clash in Wimbledon following a knock-on from Hull prop Herman Ese’ese.
It’s believed a player from the Black & Whites then directed a comment at a London player, the comment was then deemed inappropriate by the match official.
Kendall then called both captains towards him, with the referee telling London skipper Will Lovell and FC captain Danny Houghton that he had doubt over what was said between the two players.
“I have doubt over what was said there, okay, I have doubt. The incident is going on report,” said Kendall.
At the time Sky Sports pundit Jon Wells suggested the referee decided to call in the captains and put the incident on report after a ‘complaint by one of the players’, which is believed now to be a Broncos player.
Sky Sports match commentator Stuart Pyke then revealed at half-time that it was a Hull FC player who was in trouble after making the alleged comment.
“We’re hearing that the incident that was put on report is inappropriate words from a Hull player to a London player,” said Pyke.
Wells followed up by saying: “Sledging happens in all sports, I think we know what we are talking about don’t we.”

It’s unknown at this stage which players the incident involved.
The incident will now be reviewed by the RFL’s Match Review Panel after it was put on report by referee Kendall.
The outcome of which we will find out tomorrow when the RFL MRP release their weekly minutes, charges and suspensions.
Former Warrington forward Josh McGuire was handed a 12-match ban for an ‘unacceptable language’ charge in June last year – one of the longest bans in Super League history.
McGuire was also fined £1,000 for the comments made in a game against Leigh Leopards, with the lengthy suspension leading to his early departure from the Wolves.
After receiving the hefty suspension and fine, McGuire was told to “undertake mandatory education” after an RFL tribunal.
The RFL’s operational rules described the incident as follows: “Verbal abuse based on race, colour, religion, gender, sexual preference, disability, national or ethnic origin or any other form of unacceptable behaviour or language.”
It’s unknown at this stage whether the incident involving the Hull FC and London Broncos player falls under the same bracket.

I think 🤔 after all the years of playing and watching Rugby League the game is being ruined by the men in the middle, most of who have never played the game. The latest two examples being the RED card given to Tommy Makinson and today this childish insident (when we were kids) sticks and stones may break my bones but calling never hurt me. What happens on the TOP CHEF’s programme played by grownups. SOMETHING CLEARLY NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW. ITS PUTTING EVERYBODY OFF THE GREAT GAME OF RUGBY LEAGUE
