Two of Wigan Warriors’ new signings shortlisted for Entertainer of the Year Award

The Our League commentators and pundits have selected a cosmopolitan shortlist for the first Entertainer of the Year Award – and now it’s over to the Our League members.

Six players from six different countries are in the running for the award – four from the Betfred Championship, and two from Betfred League 1.

The pacesetters in the Betfred Championship are represented by Toulouse’s French playmaker Tony Gigot and the powerful Featherstone Rovers wing Gareth Gale.

They are joined by the Lebanon international and incoming Wigan signing Abbas Miski, who has been outstanding on the wing for London Broncos, and Whitehaven’s livewire Australian signing Lachlan Walmsley, who played a key role in their stirring late run into the play-offs and who is also rumoured to be signing for the Warriors.

The two Betfred League 1 representatives are the Wales wing Rob Massam – a local hero for the North Wales Crusaders even though he was born in Wiltshire – and the Barrow flier Theerapaul Ritson, who represented his native Thailand in their maiden RL international although he is better-known as Tee in Cumbria.

Voting is open now via the polls section on the Our League app, and will close at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday September 28) – with the winner to be announced during the Betfred Championship and League 1 Awards Show on Our League on Wednesday night.

As well as the awards show on Wednesday night (7:45pm), Our League will provide live and exclusive coverage of the last two matches of the Betfred League 1 Promotion Play-Offs over the next two weekends – Keighley Cougars v Doncaster next Sunday, with the winners going to Workington the following Sunday in the bid to join Barrow in the Betfred Championship in 2022.
