Super League target now being chased by new club

Long-running Wakefield target Andrew Fifita is apparently being chased by Sydney Roosters, according to zerotackle.com.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Big Sports Breakfast, senior reporter Dean Ritchie linked Broncos prop Matt Lodge and Cronulla forward Andrew Fifita as possible reinforcements for the Roosters, with Sydney in an injury crisis at present.

“One name Buzz (Phil Rothfield) brought up was Matt Lodge who seems to be on the nose at up there in Broncos and another name I’ve heard is Andrew Fifita who is on the nose at Cronulla,” Ritchie said on Wednesday.

“I think they probably do need some more depth.”

Fifita isn’t exactly in the good books at Cronulla as despite earning $800,000 for Cronulla, the rampaging forward has been plying his trade in the reserves so far this year.

The 31-year-old has already been linked to a mid-season move away from the Shire, with English Super League outfit Wakefield Trinity apparently interested in the former Australian representative.
