Rugby League is such a tough sport that everyone that participates knows the possibility of injury is a constant threat.
However, sometimes an injury can make fans, pundits and teammates shudder at the thought.
When Ryan Brierley suffered a serious eye injury in Leigh’s defeat to Leeds at the start of the month, the rugby league fraternity was issued with a warning.
A deep cut that kept opening whenever the playmaker opened up his eye meant that Brierley had to be rushed in for emergency surgery.
Unfortunately for Brierley and Leigh, the problem is still ongoing with a bleed behind his eye now having developed.
That, in turn, means that the Leigh star will have to wait another six weeks before he can be even considered for further surgery, extending his time on the sideline even further.
Hi pal, bit of a nightmare, ive now got a bleed behind the eye so ive got to wait 6 weeks for that to drain before I have the surgery 😩
