Super League continued this week, and we have new leaders after the final unbeaten record disappeared.

Thursday

Cas recover from half time deficit

Castleford Tigers came from 8-6 down at half time to win 28-8 against Hull KR at Hull College Craven Park.

Rovers drew first blood after five minutes as Ben Crooks went through. Ryan Brierley converted to make it a six point advantage.

The Tigers hit back just before half time, as Michael Shenton managed to score the try. Danny Richardson converted to level the scores.

Brierley then added a penalty a minute before the break to send the Robins into half time in front.

The second half then belonged to Castleford. Tries from Richardson, James Clare and Mike McMeekan ensured a comfortable win for the Tigers.

Friday

Leeds nil Warrington

Leeds Rhinos put in a clinical performance as they beat Warrington Wolves 36-0 at Headingley.

Tries from Jack Walker, Richie Myler, Brad Dwyer, Konrad Hurrell, Ava Seumanufagai and Ash Handley, as well as two penalties from Rhyse Martin completed the emphatic win.

The damage was done as the Rhinos took advantage of Warrington being a man down. Ben Murdoch-Masila was sent to the sin bin for making contact with the head. The final three tries came when the Tongan was off the pitch.

Saturday

Saints nil 12-man Toronto

St Helens ensured there was no World Club Challenge hangover after beating Toronto Wolfpack 32-0 at the Haliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington.

Two tries from Jonny Lomax, and other efforts from James Bentley, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Aaron Smith earned the win for the champions. Tommy Makinson also added a first half penalty.

To make matters worse for Toronto, Bodene Thompson was sent off with just over 10 minutes to go for a shoulder charge which made contact to the head.

Wigan emphatically end Giants’ unbeaten start

Wigan Warriors laid down a real marker with a 42-10 win over the previously unbeaten Huddersfield Giants at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Giants struck first with an Aidan Sezer penalty, but Wigan hit the front soon after as Willie Isa managed to score a try.

Huddersfield were not about to let their unbeaten record go without a fight. Sezer kicked another penalty to level the scores, and then Adam O’Brien managed to get a try ten minutes before the break. Sezer then converted to bring Huddersfield into double figures.

The Warriors responded with three tries in four minutes to go into half time in front. Two tries from Liam Marshall, including a stunning length of the field effort, and another from Sam Powell put the Warriors 20-10 in front.

The second half then belonged to Wigan as Marshall completed his hat trick, and then further efforts from Dom Manfredi, Oliver Partington and George Burgess ensured the Warriors went to the top of the table.

Dragons record stunning late comeback at Hull

Catalans Dragons came from 28-10 down to win 34-29 against Hull FC at the KCOM Stadium.

The Black and Whites struck first through Mahe Fonua, however the conversion was missed.

However, Catalans hit the front towards half time, as efforts from Benjamin Jullien and Fouad Yaha turned the game around for the Dragons.

But further tries from Carlos Tuimavave and a second for Fonua put Hull back in front going into half time.

Two more tries for Jamie Shaul and Manu Ma’u and a Marc Sneyd penalty seemed to put Hull in complete control at 28-10.

But back came Catalans as a second try from Jullien and further efforts from Josh Drinkwater and Samisoni Langi brought the visitors level.

Hull thought they had won it with three minutes to go when Sneyd added a drop goal, but James Maloney managed to score with the last act of the game to earn a sensational win for the Dragons.

Wakefield claim first away win at Salford

Wakefield Trinity claimed their first away win of the season with a 22-12 win over Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium.

The Red Devils hit the front through Tui Lolohea, but it was Wakefield who went into half time in front as Max Jowitt scored a try and then converted to make it 6-4.

Once again, Salford drew first blood in the second half, as Ken Sio went through to score.

However, Wakefield put on an impressive performance in the second half to claim the win. Tom Johnstone, Bill Tupou and Kelepi Tanginoa all got on the scoresheet.

The last word would go to Salford however, as Sio grabbed his second try. But it was still back to back home defeats for the Red Devils.
