Super League Fantasy League make the wrong Williams most expensive in the game

Jordan Williams will get his first shot at Super League for London Broncos

With the Super League season now less than a week ago many fans will be engaging in the competition’s fantasy league, however, they will be in for a shock when they see who has been listed as the most expensive player.

The Super League Fantasy League is a fantasy sports game where the real-life performances of players impact the fantasy points they earn within the game.

Points are allocated for tries, tackles and assists, among other ways of scoring, whilst they can be deducted for errors, cards or even penalties.

Each user can create a 17-man squad from a £2.1 million budget with the more expensive players being stars of the game, with nine of the eleven most expensive players being new NRL recruits.

Those include Luke Thompson, Hull FC duo Nu Brown and Herman Ese’ese and Leigh Leopards’ new star Matt Moylan.

One of the two other players who are priced at 160k or more and among the game’s elite is Leeds Rhinos’ captain Cam Smith who topped the scoring last year with a whopping 1,673 points.

The other player, and the most expensive player in the game by 20k at a massive price of 190k is Jordan Williams. That’s Jordan, not England captain George.

For many fans who just watch Super League and not the Championship then they might ask ‘who is Jordan Williams’?

Williams plays at prop for London Broncos and to date has made 72 appearances for the club after coming through their academy system and playing previously for London Skolars.

He was put onto the path of rugby league after initially playing rugby union but the 26-year-old is now set for a crack at Super League.

He has been handed the number 16 shirt by the Broncos this season and may well play second fiddle to signings Sadiq Adebiyi and Rhys Kennedy, but that’s not stopped him from being marked up as the most expensive player on Super League’s Fantasy League game.

Williams racked up a whopping 33 appearances for the Broncos last season and ran in four tries, each of which would earn him ten points in the game, but at such a hefty price he might not make many player’s squads.

For context, last year’s highest-scoring prop Paul Vaughan, who tallied 1,398 points which ranked fifth in the whole game, is priced at just 145k whilst rising star George Delaney is almost half the price at 100k.

One man who will be added to the game soon is Williams’ new teammate Lee Kershaw with London confirming that they signed the former Wakefield Trinity man after a successful spell on trial.

The winger has signed a one-year deal with the club following his trial during which he scored three tries in pre-season.
