Super League Disciplinary: Five clubs face major suspension worries

Super League disciplinary will again take place today and there could be a number of players who will be worried about potential suspensions ahead of some big games.

It was a big round of fixtures with vital wins for Leeds Rhinos, Salford Red Devils and Warrington Wolves all of whom moved into six points after four games.

St Helens saw their 100% record taken leaving only Wigan Warriors unbeaten with the Cherry and Whites defeating London Broncos 60-22.

This result came before Hull FC lost to Catalans Dragons away from home despite a valiant effort. Meanwhile, London, Leigh Leopards and Castleford Tigers have all been left without wins.

The Tigers suffered a disappointing defeat to the Huddersfield Giants.

Super League disciplinary worries

A number of players could face Super League disciplinary worries today. From Thursday’s game, Matt Dufty’s contact with the official which, like with Liam Sutcliffe suspended for something similar recently.

On Friday night, Alex Walmsley could face trouble for a potential trip whilst Mark Percival’s red card is the major concern.

High tackles from Leeds Rhinos stars Andy Ackers and Jarrod O’Connor could see them both face action. Justin Sangare meanwhile could also be in trouble after his yellow card.

Speaking of yellow cards, Rob Butler could be in trouble for his tip tackle against Wigan Warriors whilst the Jack Ashworth yellow will be a talking point.

Disciplinary threatens to undermine huge game

The problem with all of this is the threat that it could undermine a major fixture that will take place this weekend.

Both Leeds Rhinos and St Helens could be undermined by Super League disciplinary before a ball is kicked on Friday.

Leeds could lose both of their hookers to either injury and suspension in the shape of Andy Ackers and Jarrod O’Connor with the Rhinos likely forced to bring back Corey Johnson just weeks after his loan move to Bradford Bulls on loan.

As for St Helens they could be set to lose Mark Percival to suspension.
