Super League Attendances: Two amazing crowds as others miss out on 10K

In Super League Round Five we saw a number of big results starting with an excellent game between Salford Red Devils and Wigan Warriors, two teams who entered the round level on six points.

It was a terrific game as Salford battled back from 10-0 down on the back of Marc Sneyd and they took a 12-10 advantage until Sneyd’s short dropout led toa winning try for Wigan from Jake Wardle as the Warriors went on to win 22-12.

Then on Friday night Leeds Rhinos took on St Helens in a terrific game at AMT Headingley Stadium. Leeds started the game brilliantly with a blistering play style but despite their performance they only found themselves 8-0 ahead and the Saints soon battled back to take an 18-8 win setting up their Challenge Cup rematch perfectly.

Then on Saturday the big result came at the MKM Stadium when Hull FC were badly beaten 54-4 by the Leigh Leopards leaving fans inconsolable and hoping for a response in the Challenge Cup.

Their rivals Hull KR had a very different afternoon as they defeated Huddersfield Giants with Niall Evalds’ move to fullback proving key to the victory for the Robins.

Then later on Saturday over in France, Castleford Tigers produced a much more encouraging display in defeat to Catalans Dragons. That said, they still lost 40-14 to the French side.

Then on Sunday, Warrington Wolves moved top of the league with a win over London Broncos.
