Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin names two Super League clubs that Toulouse Olympique star Corey Norman could join

His name has been dominating the headlines in recent days following an incident in last Thursday night’s game against the Warrington Wolves.

That man is Toulouse Olympique star Corey Norman who was given an eight-match ban for ‘inappropriate contact’ with Oliver Holmes in the French side’s heartbreaking 32-18 loss.

With his suspension taking him out for the rest of the season, Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin believes that it means Toulouse will be relegated from Super League at the first time of asking.

“Corey Norman has been pivotal for Toulouse for him to pick up an eight match ban it probably says that’s curtains for Toulouse to stay up,” Wilkin said onĀ Sky Sports’ The VerdictI.

“It would be such a rank way to finish your career. If that’s the way you go out it would be sad.”

Wilkin was then asked by fellow pundit Jenna Brooks about whether or not Norman would get another shot in Super League.

The former St Helens man doesn’t think – if he does get a deal – that it will be at a top Super League club, but rather those in the bottom half of the table.”

I’m not sure he will get another one, he won’t get a contract at one of the top of the Super League clubs, but maybe a Wakefield or even a Hull KR will take his experience.”

Norman will not only be banned for the rest of the season, but also the four opening games of Toulouse’s season in 2023. And, Wilkin believes that will make it hard work for the playmaker to motivate himself with.

“Mentally that is hard work, he will be having some tossing and turning in bed about whether he will go round again.”

Toulouse’s mid-season signing of Norman and former St George Illawarra Dragons forward Daniel Alvaro kicked the French side into gear and made it squeaky bum time for Wakefield Trinity and Warrington Wolves just above them.

However, recent wins by Wakefield and Warrington have almost ended the hopes of Toulouse of staying up.
